Building Capacity for Indigenous Engagement at CEG

With support from a grant provided by Alberta Ecotrust, CEG has begun ongoing staff training, focused on deepening our understanding of Indigenous histories, treaties, and governance structures in Canada and the United States. This work is intended to support us in strengthening Indigenous partnerships in the regions where we operate.
With guidance from Amanda Sanregret of Pivotal Strategic Solutions, an Indigenous-owned consulting firm, we are exploring how principles such as ethical space and place-based learning intersect with applied ecological science, to support community-driven management of valued species and landscapes.
This training represents one step in a longer-term commitment to continuous learning and meaningful engagement, and we are grateful to be able to take this step with the support of Alberta Ecotrust and with Amanda Sanregret as our guide.
