Prioritizing restoration in the Northern Sagebrush Ecosystem

These are just some of the customizable fields available in our new, user-driven restoration prioritization tool.

Where should we restore next? That question is at the heart of our collaborative effort to support sagebrush ecosystem recovery and sage-grouse conservation in southeastern Alberta and southwestern Saskatchewan.

In partnership with regional experts and stakeholders, we’ve developed a user-driven prioritization tool designed to guide restoration and management decisions across this critical landscape. The tool empowers users to identify candidate areas for action by customizing spatial criteria based on their specific goals and data inputs.

Key features of the tool:

  • Flexible prioritization options: Includes examples for sagebrush restoration, mesic area enhancement, and tree management

  • Customizable spatial criteria: Users can define multiple layers and parameters to tailor outputs to their needs

  • Downloadable map outputs: Results can be exported for use in external analyses, planning workflows, and GIS applications

This tool offers a powerful way for land managers, researchers, and conservation planners to align restoration efforts with ecological priorities. Give it a whirl and reach out to us at info@ceg.group if you have questions or feedback!
